Premier International tire manufacturer of tires worldwide is seeking a "Tire Test Engineer "

  • Must reside in Los Angeles market or relocate

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Assist with all segments of product testing for tire development.  Assist management with controlling all functions including OE/REP development
  • Perform field testing and subjective vehicle testing for new products for development and benchmarking for OE/REP.
  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and organizing field testing, fleet testing, customer testing and third party testing.
  • Communicate efficiently internally and externally and as required with the parent company.

Job Duties:

  • Perform subjective and objective tire evaluation in support of OE and replacement tire development.  
  • Communicate with Product development department, OE business department and SRI related departments and make necessary reporting.
  • Collect the necessary information and complete necessary reporting timely.
  • Perform field engineering visits, inspections, and activities as required for periodic studies, or tire performance surveys.
  • Must be able to travel as necessary and carry a valid passport. Travel approximately 15-25%.
  • Responsible for any other duties assigned by the Test Department Manager.



 

Required Skills:

Must be able to clearly and accurately describe and report details of tire performance.  Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), as well as any database applications used for reporting.  Must be detail oriented and self motivated, have excellent problem analytical skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with department and other FTC personnel to meet corporate goals.  Must have strong personal discipline, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.  Must  clearly and professionally represent the company in all dealings with end users, dealers, tire industry groups, and others.

Required Experience

5 years of tire or vehicle development
Must have subjective test driving experience
This position will potentially have a large amount of growth over the next 2 years, someone is needed who is interested in growing with the department. 

Required Education:
College degree, preferably in mechanical engineering
