Position Subject Matter Expert - Construction and Ag Tires

This company specializes in the development, manufacturing, sale and distribution of full lines of agricultural and purpose built work tires.  We are rapidly growing and looking for an "Subject Matter Expert".

Job Duties:

Customer insights

  1. Field visit to observe and infer from end user/purchaser behavior the key product and service requirements and the pain points which can be solved using tire as a solution.
  2. Gather trends in product usage, farm applications, equipment procurement and its usage
  3. Gather Intelligence on competition – consumption pattern and qualitative aspects. Attitude of customers towards competition and equipment brands.

Product Development

  1. Convert the above customer insight into design intent for the central Product Management and R&D teams work.
  2. Create a product target listing based on white spaces in the market and the solutions for the pain points observed
  3. Competition product performance benchmarking in the field
  4. New product evaluation – field testing. Implement test protocols
  5. Price positioning support for central marketing based on the benchmarking studies

Training & special events

  1. Sales training for sales personnel (Internal and Distributors)
  2. Knowledge support to field Engineers
  3. Curriculum and content generation for the training required
  4. Representation at OE special events
  5. Speaker at special events and conferences
 

Candidate Requirements:

The role is a single person contributor and has no team reporting to him. The role draws on person’s capability to skillfully collaborate with the department heads (R&D, Regional Marketing, and Central Marketing etc)

  • Successfully completed specialized training or degree in marketing or farm technology
  • At least 15 years professional experiences in technical product management in the tire business or in agricultural equipment business. Tire experience will be preferred.
  • Good collaborative skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Enthusiastic and outgoing person with no apprehensions on travel for field level activity
