Houston, TX, based recycling company that remolds and distributes the most environmental and affordable light truck & SUV tires in the industry.  Company uses 70% recycled materials to drive customer prices 40% below name brand products.  This company is seeking a candidate with previous engineering experience in a mold cure tire plant and proven results implementing lean manufacturing initiatives.  This is a start-up environment, which means this candidate must be hands-on with every aspect of the facility.  Company has just received $1M of new CAPEX (presses, buffers, molds, etc.) and is searching for the right candidate to design and develop a new world class facility.

Duties:

• Experience in a mold cure tire manufacturing facility is required.  A lean manufacturing implementation from a start-up environment is highly desirable.  You must have been the lead maintenance or process engineer (writing procedures, training technicians and directly handling all QC requirements).
• Working knowledge of boilers, CIMA presses and intricate mold designs is highly desirable. Basic mechanical aptitude for a variety of mold cure tire manufacturing equipment will also be required.
• Proven track record of developing the right KPI’s for a mold cure tire plant.   We are looking for a history of proven success with reducing direct labor, warranties and overall production costs. 
• Experience setting up plant schedules that are demand driven and not ERP driven or computerized.  A full understanding of basic scheduling boards that can be used and maintained by production employees.
• Complete understanding of “quality control at the source” and a proven track record of implementing this program with entry level production operators.  Quality has to be a #1 focus of all our employees and this position is responsible for all QC activities.
• Recruit and train entry level employees in a demanding 3 shift manufacturing environment.   
• Expert in plant safety and OSHA requirements. 
• Proven track record of creating and maintaining a world class preventative maintenance program.
• Fluent with mechanical drawings and electrical schematics to reengineer existing equipment for maximum results.  Minor modifications will be required on existing mold cure equipment.
  

Required Education and/or Experience:

• College degree is strongly preferred with specializations in mechanical or industrial engineering.  In lieu of a strong educational background, a proven track record in a mold cure tire plant will be considered.

Job Conditions / Working environment:                                         

• Work is performed in a normal manufacturing/distribution environment with lifting requirements up to 75lbs.
