Well established multi location Independent Retail Tire Dealer located in the Northern Virginia Metro area is seeking a seasoned Tire Manager

The ideal candidate would have supervisory skills and a thorough knowledge of the retail tire Industry.

This person will be responsible for all aspects of the tire programs and development of store personnel

Job Duties:

• Manage the tire programs to produce satisfactory volume sales and profits
• Manage:
  • Purchasing programs from tire suppliers
  • Inventory and restocking orders
  • Merchandising tire and ancillary products at locations
  • Manufacturer co-op programs where required
  • Special programs on an as needed basis
• Work with outside vendors to develop advertising pieces
• Recruit, hire, train and develop sales personnel
• Discuss sales programs with each manager and salesperson
• Ensure proper sales techniques are being utilized, including but not limited to telephone techniques and in person sales techniques
• Ensure proper procedures are being followed for mounting and balancing tires, performing rotations and repairing tires
• Schedule employees for training sessions relating to job
• Set realistic and attainable goals on a daily, weekly and monthly basis for self and employees
  
  

Preferred Experience, Training & Skills:

• College degree or equivalent work experience within the tire industry
• Management and customer service skills - Ability to manage a team of employees and make judgment calls
• Automotive industry experience
• Supervisory skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Managing vendor relationships
• Even temperament required to perform multiple duties and ability to handle changing tasks on short notice
• Computer literate
• Familiar with "Point of Sale" Software
