Position Inventory Control Manager

Company Large Regional Truck Tire Sales, Service and Retreading Company
 

This is a new position!

Each of the company's locations have the primary responsibility for their inventory but the ICM will assist the company and the locations in multiple ways.

Basic Function: The inventory control manager is accountable for company wide inventory levels and bulk purchasing, develop strategies to maximize the most of our inventory assets, ongoing development of monitoring systems, and auditing on hand location inventory.

Job Duties:

  • Work to maintain the correct inventory at each location to attain acceptable inventory turns
    • Where applicable, train managers how to utilize inventory re-order reports; setting min/max levels based on sales history and monitoring the usage of such reports
  • Assist with the ordering of certain products with long lead times and oversee their ETA to keep continual flow of needed products
    • Track and communicate the inbound orders
  • Assist with tire pre-order campaigns
  • Create sales sheets of slow moving inventory and properly allocate corporate funds to support sales of dead product
    • Work to find proper discount amounts to move dead product
    • Eventually create seasonal special sheets for TNT & sales force
  • Oversee inventory Set-Up process and check for accuracy
    • Make sure inventory items have correct marketing PDF’s and UPC codes attached to each item
  • Oversee costs and selling price changes
    • Assist in the maintenance of current price sheets on company sales and online portals
  • Travel to locations 1-2 times per month to audit on hand inventory
  • Monitor company sales GP percentages for acceptable ranges  
    • Investigate low GP sales
  • Track manufacturers’ rebate programs against purchases and company wide rebate usage
  • Frequent ground and some air travel required - up to 50% expected
 

Required Experience:

  • Position requires strong interpersonal skills
  • Computer proficient with Excel/Word
  • Ability to read and analyze reports
  • Ability to work independently while handling multiple tasks without direct supervision.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Pre-placement drug screen and office aptitude test required.
